Well, It's official. I'm freaking old. I just sat down to update the blog from last Thursday, which is FOUR bloody days ago. I could not, for the life of me, remember what happened to the days. So I thought, and I thought, and finally figured it out. Tragic!! I was sitting here like I'd been abducted by aliens and dropped off in the desert afterwards without a clue. Some might blame it on the Mary Jane. Sorry. Nope. I'm old.

Anyway, now that I remember what happened to the days, let me debrief you.

Day 18. June 18. Friday. Next Stop, Benbow, California. Not much to share about the day. We drove about 3.5 hours North of Petaluma to Benbow, where we found another great spot waiting for us at the KOA. We set up camp, had a few cocktails, and had a fantastic dinner from whatever happened to be left in the fridge.

I did find these photos and video of Ed that I need to post. He is such a good dude and is traveling really well, especially given his age. He is now fine being left in the trailer for a few hours, although has a couple issues to work through in that department. For whatever reason, he likes to rip our sheets with his big claws while we are out. I guess it's to send us a message, but it's getting very expensive. Lol.

Day 19 - Juneteenth - Saturday

We got up Saturday and drove to Humboldt Redwood State Park. Unbelievable!!! We drove down the long and windy Avenue of the Giants to the visitor's center. Here are some shots of the trees...pretty impressive and perhaps life-changing.

Afterwards, we drove towards the coast to a beautiful spot called Lost Coast, California. It was Amazeballs. We ventured along the coast for awhile, and then back up the winding mountain road and through a bunch of small towns.

Almost ran out of gas, but found this beauty of a gas pump outside the general store of a little place called Honeydew 🙂...

Day 20 - June 20th - Sunday

Travel day... from Benbow, California to Gold Hill, Oregon. The drive was about four hours. We arrived in Gold Hill and had a party night 😁. Sometimes ya just need to let your hair down, if you know what I mean??

Day 21. June 21st. Monday.

Crater Lake National Park

I knew it was going to be beautiful, as I have seen the photos, but you really need to see it in person to see how breathtaking it is.

It was almost a two-hour trek to get there, but the scenery on the drive was fantastic. Winding, fast-flowing rivers, with a backdrop of nothing but big green trees as far as you can see. We also drove by Lost Lake, which was a great stopping point en route to Crater Lake.

Some photos of the beautiful Rogue River, and surrounding area...

Tomorrow, we are headed North to the coast, where we will stay for a couple nights in Newport, Oregon. My plan is to drive South from there down the gorgeous coastline for an hour or so and have lunch. Then Thursday we will head North up Highway 101 with the trailer in tow to the great state of Washington. We are planning to stop on the way at Cannon Beach, where they actually filmed the pirate ship scene in Goonies 😁👍. Pretty cool.
