July 25, 2021. Day 55. Sunday.

Another week has passed, and we have had an absolute blast. Had a few hiccups in Pocatello, but otherwise all is well and we are 'home', back in Coalville Utah.

We arrived in Pocatello on Monday the 19th. Had a quiet evening, cooked a great dinner, and went to bed pretty early.

Tuesday, 7/20, we got up early and headed to Idaho Falls. I don't realize that (1) the Falls are actually right in the city center and (2) they are actually man-made by diverting the famous Snake River. So cool. It was beautiful there, and there were very few tourists. Highly recommend if you're passing through Idaho.

The Pocatello KOA actually left much to be desired, but we adapted and survived unscathed. Lol. We did, however, decide on the Pocatello KOA employee of the month...we named him the Liger King!! 😁

Wednesday, 7/21, the Grandbuddies came to visit. We made chicken Alfredo and hung out at the campsite. Around 7:30pm, we piled in the trucks and headed to Seagull Bay in American Falls, Idaho to watch the sunset and let the dogs play.

It was an absolutely gorgeous sunset, but it ended up being an expensive one. We managed, or should I say my darling husband managed to get the truck stuck deep in the sand. We called a tow truck, who finally arrived and said there was no way he was bringing his truck down to the beach, for fear of getting stuck too.

We waited, and he was able to find two guys with Jeep Wranglers and winches to pull us out. Four hours and $1200 later, we were free. Haha. Like I said, at least the sunset was amazing...

A good time was had by all. Lol.

Thursday we took the kids to Lava Hot Springs to the water park. Had a grand time, until the skies opened up around 4:30, and that was the end of our fun.

Karter, 5, didn't want to swim, so he hung out with me all afternoon. You learn a lot listening to a five year old.

A few other photos from the day....

Strangely enough, Pocatello didn't get a drop. We arrived back at the campground tired and soggy, but Grandpa made the whole crew happy with his famous burgers, topped off with s'mores by the fire.
