Happy Tax Day!!

Tax Day. I just dropped my $2k check to the state of Utah in the mail. Grrrrr.... Hate it when that happens. At least they came through with the $600 stimulus credit on my federal return. The $1400 never showed up, but you never know, stranger things have happened.
I have bigger fish to fry anyway. I have spent the last 24 hours trying to connect my new printer to the wi-fi network. Did I mention? Grrrrr.... Look, I get that I'm only fifty, and that I'm supposed to be keeping up with technology so as not to become antiquated. I understand that in the age of online manuals and drivers, this should be a piece of cake. Well guess what? It is NOT a piece of cake. And quite frankly, I think I may just be too old for this shit. Haha.
I have tried virtually everything I could think of. Truth is, I'm not a big dummy when it comes to this stuff. I have been taking care of my own personal computing needs for decades. I can hook up routers, printers, and any other device known to woman. That said, I am just stumped. I have called in reinforcements. I mean, I just bought a 100GB/month hotspot, which runs $50/month, for the sole purpose of setting up my own little network so I can print. Goofy, I know, but I need access to a printer at all times. It's like having a cell phone. No idea why, but it's extremely important. Example...you need to ship something back and print out a label. Or you're headed somewhere you need a coupon, and you have to print it out. See! Beau and I just had a conversation that went like....
Him: I'm going to put the printer down below in storage while we are traveling.
Me: No...you're not.
All this worrying about the printer, and we haven't even talked about the fact that I'm operating on a personal computer from 1979. lol. It's a Dell, good product, but it's four years old and that's like 1,000 in computer years. Maybe if I get that $1,400 stimulus payment I'll go buy a new laptop. Would reallly like a Microsoft Surface tablet, but people in Hell also want ice water. Sidenote: we had to put a deposit on two Honda generators for the RV this week, so that will take care of any expendable income we had for the next three months. Geez-oh-man those things aren't cheap.
While I'm here bitching about my taxes and my printer, shitty things come in threes. Let's talk for one minute about Camping World. The country's largest camping/outdoor/rv operation...the Walmart of the camping universe. Ugh. What a joke. We bought our 2021 Montana High Country in July 2020. We have been living in it just about nine months. Part of the problem here is that I think we got a lemon. There are currently THIRTEEN things in need of repair! We took it to Camping World on Friday morning and discovered a few things about Camping World:
The customer service peeps who are on the front line? Not a really lovely group of people. Grumpy. You know when you feel like you ask a question and they are doing everything possible not to roll their eyes? Yes, that.
If you're going in for service, try to schedule drop-off for a Monday morning. We took it on Friday, and were told that they wouldn't even get it into a bay until Monday morning. That meant that $400 for a hotel and four days later, nothing had been fixed.
Warranty shmarranty! What a bunch of hooey. We are still under the initital twelve month warranty. I even purchased the extended warranty. All that great coverage, and we've had to put the kabbash on the whole program until the lovely customer service folks submit several items for 'warranty approval'. Let me get this straight. We bought a brand new RV for $65k, which includes $2.5k for the extended warranty. Nine months in, even though this thing has never seen the open road, we have THIRTEEN problems. Most of those are pretty significant...the oven doesn't work, the freezer doesn't work, the recliner doesn't work, and the list goes on.
Anyway, adding insult to injury, we had to go pick the RV up and bring it home while we wait for parts and/or warranty approval. What a complete waste of time and energy. I searched and searched for a mobile RV repair outfit, warranty or no warranty, to no avail. I'm not here to whine, I just want to know where customer service has gone in this country. So frustrating.
