Day 16. June 16th. Wednesday.
I woke up at 5am this morning and just never got myself back to sleep. Watched the sun come up over the trees...

It's gonna be a great day!!! I have to make some phone calls this morning regarding our trip, and then we are headed south to San Francisco proper. First stop, the Cookies Store (i.e. weed dispensary), called Berner's on Haight. Our friend has arranged for us to get a tour, and I'm kinda excited about it.
After that, we're off to visit Lombard Street, the crookedest road in the world (still not sure crookedest is a word). With any luck, I'll get a chance to ride on a trolley car.. Then onto Alcatraz. We have tickets for the 5pm tour, so I suppose that will be a wrap for the day.
Update.
Indeed it was a great day. Here are some photos...
Next time you're here, visit Haight Ashbury and stop into Berner's on Haight. You will not be disappointed.
And that bridge! So beautiful, looming over the Bay.
The trip to Alcatraz was definitely worth the views from the boat and the island. And the walk through the cell block was sobering (after that trip to Cookies, haha). I did not do the audio tour, so I can't really comment, but it was a great outing.
I am always taking photos of something, and I definitely gravitate to all things botanical/floral. Lol. Here are some shots from Alcatraz...
Which reminds me...I got to see butterflies AND a Hummingbird on the butterfly bush at the KOA. So cool....
It's the little things in my day that make me so very grateful.
Tomorrow we are headed to Napa Valley to see the gorgeous landscapes, and to drink a bit of vino. Good night.
