The Law of Attraction, and What 'The Secret' Forgot to Mention

As we are about to embark on our journey around these United States, I have decided that it will be a good time for me to go on a spiritual journey as well. Many of you will be familiar with a book/movie phenomenon back in 2006 called The Secret. The Secret is the Law of Attraction, a law that the author Rhonda Byrne and other contributing authors all agree, is universal, just like the Law of Gravity. The book has sold thirty million copies, and was released in fifty languages all over the world. Obviously, the creators of this movie, who are also the authors of the book, are onto something.

The Law of Attraction is a very real philosophy which states, in summary, that everything coming into your life, you are attracting through your thoughts. In other words, you are the creator of your life, good or bad. It's the Law that determines the complete order of the universe, every moment of your life, and every single thing you experience in your life.

I found the Secret back in 2008. I was living in Budapest at the time, and I missed all the hoopla over the book when it was released. I found it first in Hungarian, and gave it to a good friend, then downloaded it for myself. I instantly felt like I had discovered something, but I never knew quite what to do with it. I would use it to envision myself finding the perfect parking place on the way to the mall, but I didn't know how to put it in practice.

Fast forward to 2020. Now living back in Utah, I reconnected with a friend from a few years back, who I knew had read a lot about the Law of Attraction. I was reading a book at the time written by Esther and Jerry Hicks, called Ask And It Is Given: Learning to Manifest Your Desires. Fanfreakingtastic book, as are ALL of Esther's books. I can't recommend them enough. I really feel like they have changed my life tremendously in the short course of 9 months. Ask And It Is Given is currently on sale for $1.99 through the Google Play Store. You will have to install Google Books in order to download and read it. The paperback on Amazon is $8.79 right now. Grab it!! Live it! Breathe it!

What Esther's book provides that the Secret does not, is the treasure at the end of the book...in Part two, a set of processes put forth for you to use in your own life that will improve your point of attraction. If you want to make big requests of the universe, go for it. The Universe will answer. It's the Law.

An example is Process #2, The Magical Creation Box. Simple really. Find a nice box and fill it with photos or symbols or trinkets, whatever you can find to represent the things you want in your life. The more ideas you drop in the box, the more your ideas will be focused, and the more focused you are, the more alive you feel. My magical creation box actually needs a bit of tweaking, since a lot of my desires have already been realized. That, my friends, is a good problem to have.

I now have Rhonda's entire library sitting next to my bed, and Esther's/Abraham's catalog on either the Kindle or Audible app. I can open any one of those books any time, any day to a random page, and the message will speak to me somehow. I have shared the Law of Attraction with a lot of people over the years, but have finally figured out how to harness that power, and it is powerful, whereby my desires are but an ask away. Incredible stuff.

Warning...there is some kooky stuff in the books by Esther and Jerry Hicks, so prepare to suspend your belief(s) for awhile. Esther communicates/channels a group of non-physical beings called Abraham. At some stage, in the course of reading the books, I find myself listening to Esther speak or reading her words, but hearing Abraham. You have to experience the book(s) for yourself. I promise, you won't be disappointed.
