My first trip to Las Vegas was back in college, circa 1991. My BFF decided to move out there with her hubby, and I went to visit...I thought it was the coolest place I'd ever been. Went back in 1998 to get hitched, and again in 2015 to take the kiddos for a weekend. I'm still mesmerized by the energy/life/kookiness of the city. I don't gamble. I watch the people, and Las Vegas is one of the best people-watching venues on the planet. Lately, I've been staying at The Strat, at the North end of the strip, close to Sahara Ave. Great bang for your buck, and the adult pool on the 25th floor is the best way to spend a hot Vegas afternoon.

This time my visit will be somewhat different. We are booked at the Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort for four nights (June 5-9). Trying to imagine RV-ing in Sin City, and I'll admit it's a bit perplexing, but we will give it our best shot. Haha. As I mentioned in my post yesterday, I'm going to knock a few things off the bucket list while I'm there. We also have 4-5 friends from Utah joining us for my birthday celebration, so it's sure to get beautifully ugly at some point.

The RV park is just across the street from the Silverton Casino Hotel, so we are booking a few rooms there for our friends. 3.5 stars, good reviews, etc., and just a quick Uber ride up the road wherever we want to go. Have I mentioned how much I love Uber/Lyft? Pure genius. Why can't I think of one stinking thing like that? Anyway...off topic. Will review the Silverton Casino Hotel when we're there. $33/night, plus that ridiculous $21/night resort fee (virtually every hotel/casino in Vegas has one), plus taxes, so less than $60/night. Can't beat that price with a stick. What a dumb saying.
I have been trying to make a plan for Vegas. In addition to my bucket list items, which include a fish pedicure, a $50 splurge on the Blackjack table, and dinner at the Top of The World (see previous post), I have a list of 'let's do this'...
1. Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area -The Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area in Clark County, Nevada, is an area managed by the Bureau of Land Managment as part of its National Landscape Conservation System, and protected as National Conservation Area. It is about 15 miles (24 km) west of Las Vegas, and is easily seen from the Las Vegas Strip. More than three million people visit the area each year. I have been several times, and it's just a fantastic place to walk for awhile and enjoy the scenery.
2. The High Roller - Located at the heart of the Las Vegas Strip, The High Roller is the world's largest observation wheel with 28 transparent pods holding 40 passengers each.

This is a tough one. There is also a Las Vegas South Premium Outlets. Both are fabulous, but I'm headed North because (a) it has more of the stores I want to shop (e.g. Burberry and Ferragamo) and (b) there is a Cheesecake Factory and, of course, (c) because it's the furthest one away 😁. My hubster is getting super excited as he reads this. Lol. Listen. Don't take me to a large city with fabulous shopping and not expect me to shop. And, FYI, I could have picked the Shops at Crystals, where you have to either surrender an organ or an appendage to shop
4. Madame Toussad's With a Gondola Boat Ride - This package is a Super Saver from Trip Advisor and includes admission to Madame Tussauds Las Vegas, including the Marvel 4D Experience, as well as an outdoor gondola ride on the Grand Canal. Since both attractions are located at the Venetian on the Strip, you can experience them in one day or spread them out during your stay. You can also upgrade to include a romantic meal at Buddy V's Ristorante with the Trio Package.
Rise above the frenzy of the Strip at one of Las Vegas’ premier attractions with amazing views. Eiffel Tower tickets are available for purchase at the Box Office located across from the Caesars Rewards center next to the main Las Vegas Blvd entrance to Paris. An icon of the city skyline, the high-altitude attraction is located 46 stories up and is a half scale replica of the world-famous Paris, France landmark.

I will add more Vegas tidbits when we get there. Even having been there frequently,, there is still so much left to see and do. Viva Las Vegas!!!!
